Chairing Case Conferences Training Course

Health & Social Care Training Courses

AIMS:
This one day programme focuses on the role of the Safeguarding Manager in the Safeguarding Adults framework in terms of chairing case conferences.

OBJECTIVES:
This will be achieved by:

  • Revisiting the roles in the framework in order to enable lead officers to clarify what is expected of them.
  • Consideration of the role of a case conference/case review in the Safeguarding Adults framework; where it sits in terms of general risk assessment and risk management processes and the relationship between the conference and care planning.
  • Chairing a meeting: good practice for well organised, enabling and participatory meetings in which different perspectives can be respectfully sought and assimilated into the conference decision making processes.

OUTCOMES:
By the end of the session, participants will have increased confidence in their roles and responsibilities in chairing case conferences and in promoting good outcomes for 'safeguarding' issues.
